VP Shettima Gives Tinubu’s Economic Stewardship, Policy Gains

Vice President Kashim Shettima yesterday, said the economic policies of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administration are yielding positive results.

He said his claim is evident in the incremental stability of the Naira and the reduction in petrol and food prices.

Speaking at an Iftar (breaking of the Ramadan fast) organised for the Senate leaders by the President, Shettima emphasized the role of political unity in ensuring the success of the economic and governance reforms.

In a statement by his Spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima said the crashing food prices, lower petrol costs, and stability in the foreign exchange market are clear indications of the immediate and positive impact of the President Tinubu’s economic interventions.

According to him, “bold vision and courageous decisions.” “The economy is projected to grow between 4.3% and 4.6% this year, and in time, history will be kind to you, Mr. President,” Shettima stated.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Senate for fostering a strong relationship with the executive, adding, “What unites us outweighs whatever divides us.”

In his remarks, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, expressed his appreciation to President for the support extended to the 10th Senate and promised continued cooperation.

He emphasized that the Senate pride itself as a stakeholder in the Tinubu administration’s achievements.

Senator Abdulaziz Yar’adua, prayed for the unity of the country and its leadership at all levels.

The Iftar was attended by several prominent figures, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Minority Leader Abba Moro, former Senate President Ahmed Lawan, and Senate Chief Whip Mohammed Monguno, among others.
