Vice President Kashim Shettima on Saturday, July 5, 2025, represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the grand commemoration of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2025, held in Kaduna State.
The event, which spotlighted the bravery, discipline, and commitment of the Nigerian Army to national security, drew top dignitaries including the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, and the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede.
Vice President Shettima, in his address, conveyed President Tinubu’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of the Nigerian Army in safeguarding the nation against terrorism, banditry, and other security threats. He reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering support for the military in terms of equipment, welfare, and operational capacity.
“Our troops have continued to demonstrate courage and professionalism across the country. President Tinubu remains committed to strengthening our armed forces to guarantee peace and security for all Nigerians,” Shettima said.
Governor Uba Sani, in his remarks, hailed the Nigerian Army’s strategic contributions to peace in Kaduna and beyond, while Lt. Gen. Oluyede emphasized the need for sustained collaboration between the military and civil institutions.
The Nigerian Army Day Celebration, marked annually on July 6, commemorates the establishment of the Nigerian Army and celebrates the legacy of its fallen heroes and active service members.
