VP Shettima Unveils FG’s Asset Restoration Drive

Vice President Kashim Shettima has officially launched the Federal Government’s ambitious Asset Restoration Drive aimed at recovering stolen public funds and enhancing transparency across government agencies. The initiative, unveiled during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday, is part of the administration’s broader commitment to tackling corruption and improving governance in Nigeria.

Speaking at the event, VP Shettima emphasized the urgent need to reclaim assets that have been illicitly acquired or misappropriated by public officials over the years. He assured Nigerians that the government is deploying advanced investigative tools and collaborating with international partners to trace and recover stolen wealth both within and outside the country.

The Asset Restoration Drive also seeks to strengthen institutional frameworks, improve accountability mechanisms, and promote a culture of integrity across all levels of government. According to Shettima, the success of the initiative will bolster public confidence and contribute significantly to national development.

This campaign aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s ongoing efforts to reinforce the rule of law and deliver on promises of transparent leadership. The Vice President called on citizens, civil society groups, and the private sector to support the drive by providing relevant information and cooperating with authorities.

As the Federal Government intensifies its fight against corruption, the Asset Restoration Drive represents a critical step toward ensuring that recovered funds are redirected to essential services that benefit all Nigerians.
