Abuja, Nigeria – June 15, 2025
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Saturday led a delegation of his close political allies to a high-level meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The delegation comprised former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose; former Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom; and former Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu.
While details of the meeting were not officially disclosed as of press time, sources within the Villa suggest the talks focused on current political developments, national unity, and issues surrounding party cohesion ahead of future electoral cycles.
The gathering has sparked fresh speculations about ongoing political realignments and President Tinubu’s continuous efforts to maintain a broad base of support across party lines and geopolitical zones.
Wike, a key figure in the G-5 group of former governors, has remained a central player in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape since his appointment as FCT Minister, a role he has used to maintain influence at the federal level.
Political analysts note that the involvement of Fayose, Ortom, and Ikpeazu, despite their differing party affiliations, reflects growing consensus among top politicians to engage constructively with the Tinubu administration.
The Presidency has yet to release an official statement on the outcome of the meeting.
