Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has commended former Governor of Delta State and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Vice Presidential Candidate in the 2023 election, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Wike described Okowa’s endorsement as a vindication of the President’s good governance and commitment to the development of the country.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike called on other Nigerians who are still sitting on the fence to throw in their support for the President. He described Okowa’s open endorsement of Tinubu as a heartwarming decision, which must have been informed by the President’s good governance and commitment to the oneness and development of Nigeria.
“I commend Dr. Okowa and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for this heartwarming decision, which must have been informed by good governance and commitment of President Bola Tinubu to the oneness and development of Nigeria,” Wike said. “That is what I have always told people to come out and say, not when they have problems and begin to run up and down.”
Wike expressed his happiness that others are now seeing what he saw before the 2023 presidential election and are joining the Renewed Hope train. He noted that Okowa’s support for Tinubu is a testament to the President’s good governance and commitment to the development of the country.
The FCT Minister’s commendation of Okowa’s support for Tinubu is significant, coming on the heels of Okowa’s recent endorsement of the President’s policies and programs. Okowa, who was the running mate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential election, has been vocal about the need for Nigerians to support the President’s agenda for the country’s development.
Wike’s call on Nigerians to join the Renewed Hope agenda is also significant, as it highlights the need for collective effort in driving the country’s development. The Renewed Hope agenda, which is President Tinubu’s flagship program, aims to promote economic growth, social inclusion, and human development in Nigeria.
In conclusion, Wike’s commendation of Okowa’s support for Tinubu and his call on Nigerians to join the Renewed Hope agenda underscore the need for collective effort in driving the country’s development. As the country continues to navigate its development challenges, it is essential for Nigerians to come together and support the President’s agenda for the country’s growth and prosperity.
