XHS Nigeria Limited, the local representative of global document technology giant Xerox, is seeking a strategic collaboration with the Lagos State Records and Archives Bureau (LASRAB) in a bid to support the Lagos State Government’s THEMES Plus Agenda through advanced digitization and document management solutions.
The move was disclosed during a recent courtesy visit by the management of Xerox Nigeria, led by its Managing Director, Dr. Olufemi Okunade, to LASRAB’s headquarters in Lagos. The visit underscored Xerox’s intention to become a key technology partner to the agency, offering end-to-end document solutions that would support the state’s digital transformation goals.
Dr. Okunade expressed the company’s readiness to work with LASRAB to modernize records and information systems across government institutions. He said, “We are committed to leveraging our global expertise and local presence to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and security in public record-keeping. This partnership, we believe, will significantly align with the Lagos State Government’s vision under the THEMES Plus Agenda.”
Receiving the delegation, the Director-General of LASRAB, Ms. Toyin Ogunlana, welcomed the proposal, describing it as timely and in line with the Bureau’s strategic objective of institutionalizing modern record-keeping practices across Lagos State’s public service.
Ms. Ogunlana reiterated the agency’s commitment to fostering partnerships that will improve its operational capacity and service delivery. “We believe collaboration with reputable organizations like Xerox will fast-track our digitization efforts and help us safeguard valuable state records for future generations,” she stated.
The THEMES Plus Agenda is Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s development blueprint, focusing on key pillars such as Technology and Innovation, Health and Environment, Education, and Security, among others. The potential partnership between LASRAB and Xerox is expected to enhance public service delivery, improve transparency, and support the state’s goal of becoming a smart city.
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to explore further areas of cooperation, especially in capacity building, digital archiving, and process automation to propel the state’s record management system into the digital age.
