Osimhen Set to Decide Next Move in May as European Giants Circle

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen is set to weigh his transfer options in May, as speculation continues to mount over his future beyond this season. According to trusted transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano, the Nigerian international will begin formal considerations on his next destination once the current campaign concludes.

The 26-year-old striker, who has enjoyed a prolific loan spell at Turkish champions Galatasaray from Napoli, is reportedly on the radar of several top European clubs. Osimhen has been in blistering form in Turkey, scoring 29 goals in 33 appearances across all competitions—a return that has reignited interest in him across Europe.

Fabrizio Romano, speaking via his YouTube channel, provided insight into the striker’s situation. He revealed that Osimhen is almost certain to part ways with both Galatasaray and parent club Napoli, setting the stage for a major move in the summer window.

“The reality is that Victor Osimhen is fully expected to leave Galatasaray to return to Napoli and then leave Napoli,” Romano stated. “He is not expected to stay at either club. From May, he will begin assessing all the options on the table, and these options span across several countries.”

Romano also explained that Napoli are keen to avoid dragging the transfer through the summer, especially after tensions between the club’s management and the striker led to a deteriorated relationship. He stressed that all parties involved want the deal concluded early in the summer to give the Nigerian a smooth transition to his next club.

“Napoli want to get the deal done quickly,” Romano said. “They don’t want another long saga. They are looking to finalise everything by June, to allow the player ample time to settle in at his new club and avoid complications later in the transfer window.”

In terms of possible destinations, the Premier League appears to be the most attractive for Osimhen. Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa have all been linked to the prolific attacker. Romano disclosed that both United and Chelsea have already been informed that Osimhen would be open to a move—even if they fail to secure Champions League football for next season.

Elsewhere in Europe, the Spanish La Liga remains another viable destination. Reports from Spanish outlet Diario AS indicate that Barcelona are eyeing Osimhen as a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski, while Real Madrid may consider him a prime option should Brazilian star Vinicius Junior make a surprise switch to the Saudi Pro League in what could become one of football’s most expensive transfers.

Despite his contract containing a release clause estimated at £64 million, it is believed that Napoli could accept a slightly reduced offer. Sources suggest the Serie A club may be willing to let Osimhen go for around €72 million (approximately £62 million), as they look to avoid prolonging a strained relationship and rebuild their squad ahead of the new season.

Osimhen’s camp is expected to begin holding formal discussions with interested clubs from early May. As the transfer window draws closer, all eyes will be on where the Nigerian talisman decides to continue his remarkable journey, which has taken him from Lagos streets to Europe’s biggest stages.
