The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to settling the outstanding allowances owed to beneficiaries of the N-Power scheme, assuring that measures are currently underway to address all payment delays.
This assurance was made public through the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), which oversees the N-Power initiative. According to the agency, the delays were caused by administrative and verification challenges that are now being resolved.
Officials disclosed that the government is in the final stages of auditing the payment structure to ensure that only verified and deserving beneficiaries are paid. They added that once the vetting process is concluded, disbursement will commence without further delay.
The N-Power programme, launched to tackle youth unemployment and promote skill development, has faced a series of setbacks in recent times, particularly in disbursing stipends to volunteers. These delays have led to growing concerns among participants, many of whom rely on the monthly payments for their livelihood.
The government, however, has urged all beneficiaries to remain patient, assuring them that their welfare remains a top priority and that all genuine cases will be promptly addressed.
Stakeholders and advocacy groups have also called for more transparency and consistent communication to rebuild trust and strengthen the impact of the social intervention scheme.
