Aviation Minister Orders Probe into Oshiomhole–Air Peace Dispute

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has ordered a full-scale investigation into the recent boarding dispute involving Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Nigeria’s leading carrier, Air Peace.

The incident, which took place at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, reportedly saw Senator Oshiomhole expressing displeasure over alleged poor handling by the airline, prompting public interest and backlash.

In a statement released by the ministry on Wednesday, Keyamo emphasized the need to maintain transparency, professionalism, and accountability in the aviation sector, particularly as Nigeria’s local carriers gain international visibility.

The ministry also assured stakeholders that findings from the investigation would guide corrective measures or sanctions where necessary to uphold service standards and protect the flying public.

Both Air Peace and Senator Oshiomhole’s camp are expected to submit formal statements as part of the inquiry.
