As preparations for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage continue, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, is scheduled to meet with officials responsible for organizing the country’s Hajj activities.
The meeting will take place on Sunday at the Imam Khomeini Hosseiniyah in Tehran. This annual gathering is a tradition where the Leader provides guidance and delivers a message to both the pilgrims and the coordinators of the sacred rituals.
While Ayatollah Khamenei typically hosts separate audiences for workers and teachers around Workers’ Day and Teachers’ Day, this year’s calendar overlap with Hajj preparations has led to a prioritization of the pilgrimage-related meeting.
The Hajj pilgrimage, one of the five pillars of Islam, draws millions of Muslims from around the world to the holy city of Mecca each year. Iran plays a significant role in organizing thousands of its citizens for the journey, and the Supreme Leader’s message is often seen as a spiritual and logistical guide for the faithful and the facilitators.
