Commissioner AbdulRazak Holds Strategic Session with Accounts Division to Enhance NAHCON’s Financial Framework

In a bid to further consolidate transparency and efficiency within the financial structure of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), the Commissioner for Policy, Personnel Management and Finance (PPMF), Prince Aliu AbdulRazak, on Friday, 22nd August 2025, convened a high-level strategic meeting with the Accounts Division of the Commission at the Hajj House, Abuja.

The engagement, which was described by insiders as both timely and crucial, focused on strengthening internal financial procedures, aligning expenditure processes with global best practices, and ensuring that fiscal operations within NAHCON remain transparent, accountable, and development-driven.

Prince AbdulRazak, who has continued to champion reforms in the administrative and financial arms of the Commission, reiterated the importance of consistent internal collaboration and adherence to statutory financial guidelines. He emphasized that effective financial management is not only essential for accountability but is also central to NAHCON’s broader mandate of ensuring seamless Hajj operations and service delivery to Nigerian pilgrims.
While addressing the accounting team, the Commissioner noted that strategic alignment between policy formulation and financial execution will go a long way in repositioning NAHCON as a model public institution. He also encouraged staff to stay committed to professionalism, discipline, and timely reporting, stressing that the Commission’s financial integrity must be preserved at all times.

According to officials present, the meeting featured open discussions on current challenges, gaps in process flow, and opportunities for automation and digitization to reduce errors and improve efficiency. Participants also reviewed key expenditures from the 2024 Hajj exercise and brainstormed on better planning mechanisms ahead of the 2026 pilgrimage season.

The session forms part of ongoing internal reforms being led by the current NAHCON leadership to build a results-oriented institution anchored on transparency, financial prudence, and people-centered service delivery.
