The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has officially discredited a fraudulent list currently circulating on social media, which claims to contain names of shortlisted candidates for a purported Computer-Based Test (CBT) in an ongoing recruitment exercise.
In a statement issued on Monday, the NCS described the document as fake and misleading, warning the public to disregard any such list not officially published through its verified communication channels.
“The attention of the Nigeria Customs Service has been drawn to a fake recruitment CBT shortlist making rounds on various online platforms,” the Service stated. “We categorically disassociate ourselves from this document and advise the general public to verify any recruitment-related information directly from our official website or social media handles.”
The NCS reiterated that any genuine recruitment process would be transparently conducted and properly announced through recognized and authorized platforms.
The statement further cautioned job seekers and their families against falling prey to fraudulent schemes, noting that the Service does not require any form of payment for recruitment.
Citizens are urged to report any suspicious activities related to Customs recruitment to law enforcement agencies or the official Customs hotlines for investigation and necessary action.
