Eid al-Adha 2025: NASFAT President Calls for Global Muslim Solidarity, Prays for Peace and Compassion

Lagos, Nigeria – June 5, 2025

As millions of Muslims around the world mark the sacred occasion of Eid al-Adha, the President of Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT), Dr. Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, FCS, has released a heartfelt message to the global Muslim community. He congratulated all those observing Eid and performing the annual Hajj pilgrimage, while reflecting on the deeper spiritual meaning of this season.

In his official statement, Dr. AbdulRauf praised the unity, discipline, and spiritual devotion shown by pilgrims gathered in Mecca and Medina, calling Hajj “one of the greatest symbols of Islamic brotherhood and submission to the will of Allah.”

“Thousands of Nigerian pilgrims have joined this divine congregation,” he said, “to not only fulfill a core pillar of Islam, but also to connect with the spiritual legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his unwavering faith.”

Dr. AbdulRauf reminded Muslims that Eid al-Adha is a time to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command, a story revered in Islamic tradition as a lesson in submission, faith, and divine mercy.

“Beyond the rituals, this season calls us to renew our commitment to Allah and to show kindness to the less privileged through acts of charity, especially the distribution of food,” he noted.

He emphasized that this commemoration is not just symbolic, but a call to action urging Muslims across communities to extend their hands in service to others, particularly in difficult times.

Global Solidarity in a Time of Crisis

Touching on the global climate of unrest and economic hardship, the NASFAT President expressed deep concern for vulnerable populations in crisis-stricken regions.

“As we celebrate,” he said, “we cannot ignore those struggling to survive in Northern Nigeria, Palestine, Ukraine, India, Pakistan, and other parts of the world. Our du’as (prayers), donations, and collective compassion must reach them.”

He called on the global Ummah to take practical steps in alleviating the suffering of those affected by war, displacement, and poverty, echoing the Islamic Principle of Ummah Wahida (One United Community).

The Role of Faith in Upliftment

While addressing the significance of Hajj and Eid, Dr. AbdulRauf reiterated how Islamic rituals strengthen the moral and spiritual foundation of communities. These annual rites, he said, serve as a reminder that faith is not merely personal but social, designed to nurture empathy, sacrifice, and collective responsibility.

“In a world that is increasingly divided, moments like these reconnect us to what truly matters, obedience to Allah, compassion toward others, and dedication to building a just society guided by divine values.”

He also highlighted NASFAT’s continued commitment to spiritual development, education, and community empowerment, noting that the Society remains focused on building leaders and faithful stewards within and beyond Nigeria.

Concluding his message, Dr. AbdulRauf offered prayers for a peaceful Hajj season, a joyful Eid celebration, and enduring blessings for all Muslims.

“Eid Mubarak and Hajj Mabrour,” he said.
“May Allah accept our sacrifices, grant us many more of these seasons in good health and well-being, and shower His barakah upon us and our families. Barakah Allahu fiih. Amin.”
