In a remarkable display of unity, faith, and resilience, Muslim women from across Ogun State convened on Friday, June 27, 2025, for the NASFAT Women’s Conference (Zone 1). Held under the theme, “Faith Through the Storm: An Islamic Approach to Overcoming Hardship with Strength and Grace,” the conference provided a platform for spiritual upliftment, intellectual empowerment, and community solidarity.

The day began with early morning devotions Fajr prayer, physical wellness routines, and breakfast before transitioning into a well-structured formal session. The event officially opened with the arrival of dignitaries and the rendition of the National Anthem, followed by a heartfelt Dua led by the Zonal Missioner, Dr. Muiz Ajibade.
A soul-stirring recitation from the Holy Qur’an by hajia Aisha Sanusi set the tone for the day’s proceedings. This was followed by a welcome address delivered on behalf of the Zonal Women Affairs Secretary, Hajia Daramola Sinot Olayemi, ably represented by Alhaja Sakirat Oluwatoyin Salami. In his address, Zonal Chairman Alhaji Asifat Lukumon encouraged participants to continue being exemplary ambassadors of Islam, even in the face of modern challenges.

One of the most spiritually moving moments came during the special prayers offered by the Chief Imam of Owu Kingdom, Sheikh Suleiman Adebayo Kehinde, who invoked divine blessings for the women and the broader community.
In a powerful gesture of royal solidarity, the Oloris of the Owu Kingdom, Olori Khadijat Matemilola and Olori Aminat Matemilola, delivered heartfelt goodwill messages, urging women to remain steadfast, courageous, and deeply rooted in their Islamic faith through life’s trials and transitions.

The keynote address was delivered by NASFAT’s National Women Affairs Secretary, Alhaja Ganiyat Omowumi Babalola, who emphasized the importance of faith, sisterhood, and collective support as tools for overcoming adversity. She encouraged Muslim women to lean on one another and stay spiritually grounded as they navigate societal pressures.

A major highlight of the conference was the lecture session delivered by renowned scholar, Imam Sanusi Daud, titled “Islamic Values and Modern Life: Navigating the Challenges – How Muslim Women Can Balance Faith, Family and Career in Today’s World.”
In his words: “Do not reduce measures, keep being truthful and put your faith in Allah. He will be there for you.” The lecture struck a deep chord with attendees, blending scriptural guidance with relatable, real-life applications.

The event had in attendance, Coordinator I, EsV (Hajia) Talat Yusuf-Abdulkadri, who envouraged all participants to be focused and dedicated to the cause.
As the curtains fell on the day’s activities, the atmosphere was charged with renewed energy and unwavering hope. Attendees departed spiritually fortified, intellectually equipped, and more determined to weather life’s storms with the strength, grace, and unshakable faith that Islam teaches.
