ABUJA, July 24, 2025 – The Federal Government has officially inaugurated State Technical Committees across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory as part of preparations for the upcoming Youth Conference 2025.
The Minister of Youth Development, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, who presided over the flag-off ceremony in Abuja, said the initiative is a crucial step in ensuring widespread grassroots participation in shaping the future of Nigerian youth. She emphasized that the committees will coordinate state-level consultations, collate recommendations, and ensure effective representation of youth voices during the national conference.
According to the minister, the Youth Confab 2025 is a strategic platform to engage Nigerian youths on policy formulation, economic empowerment, education, innovation, and national development. She noted that each state committee will comprise youth representatives, civil society actors, government officials, and other critical stakeholders.
Dr. Ibrahim urged members of the committees to work with dedication, transparency, and inclusiveness to gather credible inputs that reflect the diverse aspirations of young Nigerians. She added that the conference will not be a mere talk shop but a framework for actionable policy direction to address youth concerns.
The Youth Confab 2025 is expected to hold later this year, bringing together thousands of participants from all geo-political zones to chart a sustainable path forward for the nation’s youth population.
