The Federal Ministry of Education has officially launched the EDUREVAMP Communities of Practice (CoPs), a transformative initiative aimed at revolutionizing the education sector by equipping Nigerian teachers with essential digital skills and fostering stronger collaboration among schools nationwide.
The unveiling of the programme, which took place on Monday, marks a significant stride in the government’s broader vision to modernize teaching methods and bridge digital learning gaps across the country.
According to the ministry, the EDUREVAMP CoPs are designed to create professional learning communities that will connect educators, promote the exchange of ideas, and support innovative practices in classrooms through technology-driven platforms.
Speaking at the launch, a representative of the Federal Ministry of Education emphasized that the initiative is part of the Ministry’s strategic reforms under the EDUREVAMP agenda, which prioritizes teacher development, quality learning environments, and inclusive access to education.
The CoPs will provide continuous learning opportunities for teachers, with a focus on digital literacy, instructional innovation, and peer-to-peer mentorship. This is expected to raise teaching standards and student performance outcomes across both urban and rural schools.
The Ministry urged all stakeholders in the education ecosystem, including school administrators, development partners, and private sector actors, to support the initiative and help drive sustainable improvements in Nigeria’s basic and secondary education systems.
