FG Scales Up Skills Empowerment to Tackle Poverty Through NPRGS Initiative

The Federal Government has intensified efforts to lift millions of Nigerians out of poverty through the National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy (NPRGS), a comprehensive empowerment initiative under the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education (OSSAP-TVEE).

As part of the scheme, beneficiaries across the country will undergo specialized training in high-demand fields such as Web Development, Cyber Security, and Solar Installations, among others. The initiative aims to equip participants with modern technical and vocational skills that will enhance employability and self-reliance.

In addition to the training, participants will receive essential tools, including laptops and other digital gadgets, needed to effectively deploy their newly acquired skills in practical settings or entrepreneurial ventures.

This empowerment drive aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s strategic goal to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty by the year 2030. It underscores the administration’s commitment to inclusive economic growth, human capital development, and digital empowerment as key drivers of national progress.

The NPRGS is part of a broader framework to reduce poverty through upscaling of skills, promoting innovation, and facilitating access to sustainable livelihoods in various sectors of the economy.
