FIRS Donates CNG-Powered Buses to BPP, Deepens Collaboration Under “Nigeria First” Policy

Abuja, Nigeria – July, 2025 — In a renewed drive to promote inter-agency cooperation and support national development under the “Nigeria First” policy, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has donated two Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses to the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).

The symbolic handover of the vehicles was conducted at the BPP headquarters in Abuja, where senior officials from both agencies gathered to reaffirm their shared commitment to enhancing public service delivery and promoting energy-efficient solutions.

Executive Chairman of FIRS, Zacch Adedeji, represented at the event, described the donation as part of the Service’s broader mission to foster collaboration among federal agencies while supporting environmentally sustainable transport solutions in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

He noted that the use of CNG-powered vehicles represents a shift toward cost-effective and eco-friendly government operations, aligning with national goals of reducing carbon emissions and cutting fuel costs in public institutions.

Director General of the BPP, Mr. Mamman Ahmadu, expressed profound appreciation to the FIRS for the generous gesture, emphasizing that the buses will significantly ease staff movement and logistics. He praised the FIRS for demonstrating leadership and solidarity in a manner that reflects the core spirit of the “Nigeria First” initiative.

“This support is timely and appreciated. It will help us enhance our efficiency in the discharge of our procurement oversight functions across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies,” Ahmadu stated.

The event concluded with a renewed pledge from both agencies to deepen their strategic partnership in strengthening institutional performance, promoting transparency, and driving sustainable development across Nigeria’s public sector.
