Osogbo, Nigeria | September 14, 2025 — The 4th edition of the NASFAT Games (NASGA 4.0) came to a colorful end on Saturday at Fountain University, Osogbo, with thrilling performances across multiple sports and a celebration of unity through competition.
The headline event, the Migration Cup football tournament, lived up to expectations as defending champions Niger Zone stormed through the group stages and sealed back-to-back victories with a commanding 5–0 win over hosts Fountain University in the final. Lagos Zone 3 secured third place after edging South-South/South-East (SS/SE) on penalties following a 1–1 draw.
Basketball delivered high-octane action, with SS/SE claiming the men’s gold by stunning hosts Fountain University, while Lagos Zone 3 successfully defended their women’s crown with dominant displays.
Volleyball produced its own drama as Lagos Zone 3 took men’s gold, while Oyo Zone 1 outclassed the competition in the women’s category, pushing Lagos Zone 3 into silver and leaving Fountain University to settle for bronze.
Indoor sports saw Fountain University shine brightest in Scrabble, winning three gold medals, while Ahmadiyyah added one to the tally. In chess, Lagos Zone 3 swept both the male and female blitz titles, with Fountain University and Headquarters (HQ) also making it to the podium.
This year’s edition also made history with the introduction of tennis. Oyo Zone 1 dominated the men’s singles and doubles, while Fountain University claimed the women’s singles and Lagos Zone 3 clinched gold in the women’s doubles.
Athletics lit up the tracks as Headquarters celebrated their first-ever gold medal, while Fountain University, Lagos Zone 3, and Niger Zone added to their collections with eye-catching performances in the sprints and relays.
The Games concluded with an official medal presentation ceremony immediately after the Migration Cup final. Fountain University emerged overall champions, topping the medal table with 38 medals, including 11 gold, 17 silver, and 10 bronze. Lagos Zone 3 followed as strong runners-up with an impressive haul across team and individual sports.
Commending the athletes, coaches, and organisers, NASFAT leadership described NASGA as more than a sports festival, noting that it continues to serve as a platform for youth empowerment, unity, and promoting the values of Islam through sports.
