Galadima Accuses Kano Conspirators Of Plotting State Of Emergency

In a startling revelation that has sent shockwaves through political circles, elder statesman Buba Galadima has raised alarm over what he describes as a sinister plot to plunge Kano State into chaos, with the ultimate goal of forcing a declaration of a state of emergency in the commercial nerve centre of northern Nigeria.

Speaking to journalists at his residence yesterday, Galadima claimed that certain powerful political interests are working behind the scenes to orchestrate widespread unrest across the ancient city. I have credible intelligence from reliable sources that some disgruntled elements are planning to sponsor violence and create artificial insecurity in Kano, the outspoken political figure declared.

According to Galadima, the masterminds of this alleged plot aim to make the state ungovernable, thereby providing justification for federal authorities to suspend democratic structures and impose emergency rule.

Their plan is to create such a level of instability that the federal government would have no choice but to declare a state of emergency, which would effectively remove the current administration, he stated.

The elder statesman further alleged that the plotters have already begun recruiting youths from neighbouring states and distributing funds to various groups to foment trouble in strategic locations across the state. He warned that if successful, such a move would not only destabilise Kano but could potentially trigger a chain reaction of insecurity across the entire northern region.

When contacted, the Kano State Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Ibrahim Garba, said the state government was aware of such rumours and had already heightened security measures. We are working closely with all security agencies to ensure that peace continues to reign in our state. Kano has always been peaceful, and we intend to keep it that way, the commissioner affirmed.

Security experts have expressed concern over Galadima’s allegations, noting that Kano’s strategic importance to the northern economy makes it a potential flashpoint that could affect regional stability. Dr. Musa Aliyu, a security analyst at Bayero University Kano, observed that Kano’s position as the commercial hub of the north means any significant breakdown of law and order there would have far-reaching consequences beyond its borders.

Meanwhile, the Kano Emirate Council, through its spokesperson, has called for calm and urged residents to report any suspicious activities to appropriate authorities.
The Emirate stands for peace and will not tolerate any attempt to disrupt the harmonious coexistence that Kano is known for, the statement read.

Political observers note that Galadima’s allegations come at a time of heightened political tension in the state, following recent controversies surrounding local government elections and the ongoing legal battles over emirship tussles. The timing of these allegations suggests there might be more to this than meets the eye, commented political analyst Hajiya Amina Tukur.

As security agencies intensify surveillance across the state, citizens have been advised to go about their lawful activities without fear while remaining vigilant. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state assured that security forces are on high alert and fully prepared to nip any planned disturbance in the bud.
