Gombe Police Ban Night-Time Motorcycle Operations, Open Weapon Displays, Gang Activities

In a bid to curb rising insecurity and maintain public order, the Gombe State Police Command has announced a ban on the open display of weapons, nighttime motorcycle operations, and gang-like activities across the state.

The announcement was made in a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), who stressed that the move is part of renewed efforts to ensure the safety of lives and property.

According to the statement, unauthorised individuals found wielding weapons publicly or operating motorcycles between dusk and dawn will face arrest and prosecution. The Command also warned against the gathering or activities of groups exhibiting gang-related behaviour.

Residents were urged to cooperate with law enforcement officers and report suspicious movements or breaches of the directive.

The police command reaffirmed its commitment to community policing and assured the public that these measures were essential to prevent crime and restore public confidence in security operations.
