Governor Eno Moves to Raise 2025 Akwa Ibom Budget

Uyo | September 13, 2025 — Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has announced plans to increase the state’s 2025 budget, citing the need to meet pressing developmental priorities and strengthen service delivery.

The governor explained that the upward review would allow his administration to address funding gaps in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture. He stressed that the decision was guided by the realities of rising costs and the state’s commitment to delivering on its promises to the people.

Governor Eno noted that despite economic challenges, Akwa Ibom remains focused on expanding internally generated revenue while ensuring fiscal discipline and transparency in expenditure. He also assured that the supplementary budget would be channeled toward people-oriented projects, particularly in rural development and social welfare.

The move comes as the state assembly prepares to deliberate on the revised financial plan, which is expected to provide additional resources to sustain Akwa Ibom’s growth trajectory.
