Oghara, Delta State — In a move to boost technical and tertiary education in Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Saturday commissioned several major infrastructure projects at the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara.
The commissioned projects include newly constructed lecture halls, administrative blocks, and upgraded road networks within the campus. These developments aim to enhance the learning environment, improve staff working conditions, and accommodate the increasing student population.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Oborevwori reiterated his administration’s commitment to advancing educational infrastructure across the state, noting that improved learning facilities are critical to fostering academic excellence and preparing the youth for future challenges.
“This commissioning is a testament to our promise to invest in the education sector and create enabling environments for knowledge and innovation to thrive,” the governor stated.
Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Emmanuel Ufuoma, commended the governor for his visionary leadership and expressed optimism that the new facilities would significantly impact the institution’s academic performance and operational efficiency.
Traditional rulers, political leaders, and student representatives present at the event lauded the state government’s proactive investment in education, urging continued support for technical and vocational education in the state.
