ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, Delivers Goodwill Message at Inaugural National Policy Dialogue on Legislative Agenda

In a significant demonstration of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission’s (ICPC) commitment to fostering transparency and accountability, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, Chairman of the Commission, delivered a goodwill message at the Inaugural National Policy Dialogue on the Legislative Agenda of the House. The event took place earlier today at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

Dr. Aliyu’s address underscored the pivotal role of the National Assembly in shaping the legislative framework that governs the nation’s anti-corruption efforts. He emphasized the necessity for robust legislative support to empower institutions like the ICPC in their mandate to combat corruption effectively. Highlighting the Commission’s recent achievements, Dr. Aliyu noted that under his leadership, ICPC had made significant strides in asset recovery and project monitoring. These efforts align with the administration’s broader anti-corruption agenda, which Dr. Aliyu articulated through the acronym ‘CARE’—an initiative aimed at enhancing the Commission’s capacity to address corruption comprehensively.

The dialogue, organized by the House of Representatives in collaboration with the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC), attracted a diverse audience, including lawmakers, civil society organizations, and stakeholders from various sectors. The event provided a platform for in-depth discussions on the legislative priorities of the 10th House, focusing on areas such as infrastructural development, education, healthcare, economic diversification, and governance reforms. These discussions are part of the House’s commitment to developing a legislative agenda that reflects the aspirations and needs of the Nigerian populace.
