“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wishes to inform the general public that the revalidation of voter identity cards, which includes new registration, transfer of voting location, and replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), will commence on Monday, 27th May 2025, and end on Thursday, 5th June 2025,” the statement read in part.

INEC called on civil society organizations, political parties, religious groups, and community leaders to sensitize their members to participate actively in the exercise, emphasizing that this is crucial for ensuring their participation in forthcoming elections.
Members of the public are advised to visit the designated INEC offices and registration centers in their local government areas to carry out the process within the stipulated period.
Stakeholders have also been encouraged to “tell a friend to tell a friend” in order to ensure that no eligible voter is left behind.
Further details on registration centers and requirements are expected to be published on INEC’s official website and social media platforms in the coming days.
