Hundreds of Iranians gathered at Palestine Square in Tehran on Tuesday to stage a peaceful protest in response to recent inflammatory remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump against the Islamic Republic and its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The demonstrators, waving Iranian flags and holding placards denouncing foreign interference, chanted slogans of defiance and solidarity with the country’s leadership. The protest was marked by strong anti-American sentiment and calls for national unity amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel.
“Trump’s words are an insult to every Iranian,” said one protester. “We stand behind our Leader and our country’s sovereignty.”
This show of public support follows Trump’s widely circulated statement over the weekend, in which he reportedly urged the evacuation of Tehran and made veiled threats suggesting awareness of Ayatollah Khamenei’s location — remarks perceived by Iranian officials as provocative and hostile.
Iranian authorities have condemned the comments, warning that such rhetoric only escalates regional instability.
The gathering at Palestine Square reflects a broader nationalistic response within Iran, as citizens rally around their leaders and prepare for possible further developments in the escalating Middle East crisis.
