The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Sunday night that it successfully intercepted eight drones launched from Iran, marking another escalation in the ongoing hostilities between the two nations.
In a brief statement, the Israeli army confirmed that its advanced air defense systems, including the Barak Magen, were deployed to neutralize the aerial threats before they reached Israeli airspace.
“This is yet another clear attempt by Iran to destabilize the region and threaten Israeli civilians,” an IDF spokesperson said.
The drones were reportedly detected approaching from the east and were intercepted in various locations before causing damage. No casualties or structural impacts were reported.
