Abuja, June 23, 2025 – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has scheduled a mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for Saturday, June 28, 2025, to accommodate candidates affected by prior disruptions. A total of 96,838 candidates are expected to participate in the exercise, which will be held across 183 selected test centres nationwide.
JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, explained that the mop-up session will include 5,096 spill-over candidates and those who experienced biometric failures during the main exam, as well as 91,742 candidates who missed all or part of both the main and rescheduled UTME sessions . Candidates were urged to begin printing their notification slips starting Monday, June 23, and to arrive at their designated centres no later than 8:00 am on the exam day .
As part of its commitment to examination integrity, JAMB has also suspended or delisted 113 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres found culpable of technical lapses and alleged malpractice during the mock, UTME, and resit exams. Some of these centres are currently under security investigation and may face further prosecution . The board thanked security agencies—SSS, NPF, and NSCDC—for their vital role in uncovering identity fraud and examination malpractices involving syndicates and even a few JAMB officials .
Affected candidates will be reassigned to nearby eligible centres, and JAMB has assured them of a fair, transparent, and strictly monitored examination environment, complete with dedicated invigilators and security personnel to uphold standards .
The mop-up UTME presents a final opportunity for affected candidates to complete their 2025 admission processes, reinforcing JAMB’s assurance of a credible system committed to education access and integrity.
