Jigawa Police Distributes Food Items to Families of Slain Officers.

The Jigawa State Police Command has provided food items to 35 families of police officers who lost their lives while on duty.

The distribution of the Ramadan welfare package took place at the Command’s headquarters in Dutse, the state capital, on Thursday. This initiative reflects the command’s ongoing commitment to supporting the families of deceased officers, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdullahi, stated that the gesture is part of an eight-year tradition aimed at providing relief to widows and orphans during Ramadan. “We want to ensure that these families can break their fast joyfully, and we are committed to supporting them in any way we can,” he said.

He offered prayers for the deceased officers, seeking eternal peace for them and protection for their families. The Commissioner also expressed gratitude to the Command Management Team, the Mosque Committee, officers and men of the command, and other contributors for making the distribution possible.

“The Ramadan welfare package is not just a one-time gesture; it is part of the Command’s ongoing commitment to supporting the families of fallen officers. We are committed to supporting these families in any way we can,” he reiterated.

Hauwa Mamuda, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed deep appreciation to God, the Commissioner of Police, the Mosque Committee, and all members of the command for their generosity. “The families of the fallen officers are grateful for the Command’s support. We are thankful for the Commissioner of Police and the entire Command for their kindness and generosity,” she said.

Police Spokesperson, SP Shi’isu Adam, emphasized the significance of the gesture during Ramadan, a period of kindness, mercy, and giving. “The Command’s gesture is a reminder of the importance of showing compassion and empathy towards those in need,” he said.

Adam added, “The Ramadan welfare package, even though it looks small, is a significant gesture that can make a big difference in the lives of the families of fallen officers. It is a reminder that kindness and compassion can go a long way in bringing comfort and solace to those in need
