Veteran Nollywood actor, Anayo Onyekwere, widely known as Kanayo O. Kanayo, has shared heartfelt birthday wishes for his daughter, Valerie, as she celebrates her 25th birthday. The actor, however, also made a bold statement regarding his expectations for her future before she turns 27.
In a post shared on his Instagram page, the actor expressed pride in Valerie’s growth, urging her to achieve one of three milestones by the time she reaches 27: get married, complete her PhD, or move out to live independently.
Kanayo, in his emotional tribute, wrote: “My dear daughter, Uloaku (Bank/House of Wealth), congratulations on your 25th birthday. From little Valerie to a prospective Madam Uloaku. As I told you this morning while praying for you, it should be a day of sober reflections, things to copy, things to paste, and things to delete. What realities there are and the facade of things thereof.”
The actor also took a moment to reflect on the challenges of balancing work and family life, particularly the time spent away from home due to his extensive travel commitments as a successful actor. He reminisced about how Valerie would often complain about his absences, noting that his job as an actor requires him to be constantly on the move due to the high demand for his talent.
“Your issue with me has always been, ‘You are always travelling, hardly at home.’ Uloaku, good actors travel, always on the move because they are always HIRED. Thank God I am still very active and relevant. Try and tolerate me,” he explained.
Kanayo concluded his message with a strong reminder of his expectations, urging Valerie to accomplish one of the following goals before 2027: “In all these, please ensure that before 2027, you are either walking down the aisle, going for your PhD, or walking out of my house. Simpliciter. Ka Chukwu Okike Abiama gozierem Uloaku.”
Kanayo’s candid message to his daughter has since garnered attention on social media, with fans admiring his straightforward approach to parenting while also celebrating Valerie’s 25th birthday.
