Kano, Nigeria – September 5, 2025
The newly established Kano State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KASA) has set a revenue target of ₦1.5 billion between September and December 2025, according to its Director-General, Kabiru Dakata.
Dakata made the disclosure on Thursday, September 4, 2025, while briefing journalists in Kano, noting that the agency has developed strategies to ensure the projection is achieved.
He added that the agency aims to generate ₦3 billion in 2026 and ₦5 billion in 2027, with long-term plans to exceed ₦10 billion annually in subsequent years.
“The agency was not only established to generate revenue but also to sanitize outdoor advertising, regulate practices, and align with global best standards,” Dakata stated.
The agency, created in April 2025 after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf signed the enabling law, is tasked with overseeing and regulating all outdoor advertising in Kano State, including billboards, posters, and vehicle signage.
Officials emphasized that enforcement will include fines ranging from ₦100,000 to ₦500,000, community service, or imprisonment for violators of advertising regulations.
KASA has also absorbed responsibilities previously handled by the Kano State Urban Beautification Agency (KASUBA) to streamline operations and improve compliance.
