Kebbi State Pilgrim Hospitalised During 2025 Hajj Finally Returns Home Safely

After a prolonged stay in Saudi Arabia due to a health emergency, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi, one of the pilgrims from Kebbi State who participated in the 2025 Hajj exercise, has finally returned home. His arrival marks the end of a challenging personal journey that began during the holy pilgrimage months ago.

Alhaji Abdullahi had fallen ill while in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was admitted to a medical facility where he remained under observation and treatment even after other pilgrims had returned to Nigeria. His condition required extended medical attention, making it impossible for him to travel back with the rest of the Kebbi State contingent.

Throughout his stay, he was cared for by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which assigned its Saudi Arabia Liaison Officer, Ustaz Abubakar Lamin, to oversee his welfare. Ustaz Lamin worked closely with Saudi medical personnel to ensure that the pilgrim received adequate treatment and was fit to travel before repatriation was considered.

The successful return of Alhaji Abdullahi underscores NAHCON’s ongoing commitment to the welfare and safety of Nigerian pilgrims, even beyond the core Hajj activities. The Commission has repeatedly stated that no pilgrim would be left behind or neglected, particularly in times of medical emergencies.

Family members, state officials, and well-wishers have expressed gratitude for the coordinated efforts that ensured his recovery and safe return. The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board also acknowledged the support of NAHCON and Saudi health authorities for their role in ensuring that the pilgrim received proper care until he was medically cleared for travel.

As the 2025 Hajj season concludes, the incident serves as a reminder of the physical demands of the pilgrimage and the importance of strong logistical and healthcare frameworks in safeguarding pilgrims throughout their spiritual journey.
