Lagos State Organises Overseas Study Tour for Youth Leaders

In a bid to empower the next generation of leaders, the Lagos State Government has organised an overseas study tour for selected youth leaders. The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Youth and Social Development (MYSD), aims to provide participants with valuable global perspectives and leadership skills that will enhance their ability to drive effective governance and contribute to the state’s growth.

The study tour, in partnership with Queen’s University in Toronto, Canada, will offer the youth leaders an opportunity to engage in academic and cultural exchanges, fostering a deeper understanding of international governance models, urban challenges, and innovative solutions. This international exposure is designed to broaden their leadership capabilities and equip them with practical knowledge that can be applied to addressing local issues.

According to the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, the initiative reflects Lagos State’s commitment to building a well-rounded, globally aware leadership among its youth. By facilitating opportunities for young leaders to learn from global best practices, the state hopes to cultivate a generation that is not only grounded in local realities but also equipped with the tools to navigate a rapidly changing world.

The study tour is expected to have a long-term impact on the participants, providing them with new insights and ideas to implement in their respective communities. This aligns with the state government’s broader agenda of developing the skills of young people to prepare them for leadership roles in various sectors of society.
