LASUBEB Receives Renovated Classrooms from Local Government Chairman

July 5, 2025 — Lagos, Nigeria

The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) has taken delivery of newly renovated classroom blocks donated by a local government chairman, further advancing efforts to improve learning environments in public primary schools across the state.

The formal handover ceremony took place on Friday, with the Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King, commending the initiative as a laudable demonstration of grassroots support for basic education development. He noted that such collaborative interventions reflect the Sanwo-Olu administration’s vision of inclusive and quality education for all children in Lagos.

The local government chairman, who oversaw the renovation project, stated that the gesture was part of his administration’s commitment to boosting educational infrastructure within his jurisdiction. The renovated facilities include upgraded classroom blocks, modern desks, improved sanitary systems, and learning aids designed to enhance pupils’ academic experience.

“Education is the bedrock of development, and we are proud to contribute to this noble cause by creating a more conducive environment for our children to learn and thrive,” the chairman said during the handover.

Teachers, pupils, and members of the host community expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing the renovated classrooms as a significant morale booster and a catalyst for better learning outcomes.

LASUBEB reiterated its open-door policy for partnerships that support educational development, urging more stakeholders to participate in uplifting the state’s public school system.
