NAF Airstrikes Foil Boko Haram Terror Plot Ahead of Eid in Borno

In a decisive military operation aimed at safeguarding national security and ensuring peaceful Eid celebrations, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully neutralized a major Boko Haram threat in Borno State.

According to a statement released by Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF, precision airstrikes were conducted on June 5 and 6, 2025, targeting key terrorist hideouts under Operation HADIN KAI. The operations were carried out at Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia, located in the Southern Tumbuns region of Borno.

The airstrikes, based on credible intelligence, struck logistics structures reportedly used by the insurgents for weapon storage and coordination of planned attacks. The targeted locations were believed to be critical in a foiled terror plot intended to disrupt the upcoming Eid celebrations.

“Battle Damage Assessments confirmed the destruction of several key structures and the neutralisation of a number of terrorists,” the statement noted. The NAF emphasized that the strikes were part of a pre-emptive strategy to dismantle threats before they materialize, ensuring the safety of civilians in the region.

The Nigerian Air Force reaffirmed its continued commitment to protecting lives and supporting national security objectives through proactive intelligence-based operations.

This development comes as communities across the North-East prepare for the Eid festivities, with renewed hope for a more secure environment.
