An advance delegation from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ahead of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage to facilitate early arrangements for Nigerian pilgrims.
The team, led by key officials of the commission, touched down in the holy land to commence crucial pre-Hajj groundwork, including inspection of accommodations, catering arrangements, transportation logistics, and coordination with Saudi Hajj authorities.
Confirming the development, a senior official of the Commission said the advance team will interface with service providers and relevant agencies to ensure that all logistical components meet the expected standards and are in place before the arrival of the first batch of Nigerian pilgrims.
“This early deployment is part of NAHCON’s renewed commitment to delivering a seamless and dignified Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims. We are engaging stakeholders proactively to avoid last-minute issues,” the source noted.
The team is also expected to review contractual agreements with licensed service providers in Makkah and Madinah, inspect tent allocations in Mina and Arafat, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards as set by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
In recent years, NAHCON has placed a strong emphasis on early planning and collaboration to address the increasing complexities surrounding Hajj operations. The 2025 pilgrimage season is particularly significant as it is expected to witness a high turnout following the full post-COVID restoration of Hajj quotas.
The arrival of the advance team is viewed as a vital step in NAHCON’s timeline of activities, setting the tone for a well-organized Hajj season that prioritises the welfare, comfort, and spiritual fulfilment of pilgrims from Nigeria.
