The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Olushola Oladoja, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as a “remarkable achievement”, the sustenance of two consecutive academic years without disruption in the nation’s tertiary education system.
Speaking in Abuja, Oladoja lauded the Federal Government’s efforts in fostering stability in the education sector, noting that the absence of strikes or closures over the past two years marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s democratic and academic journey.
“This is the first time in recent history that students in public universities can pursue their studies uninterrupted for two full academic sessions. It is a testament to the government’s renewed commitment to dialogue, reforms, and improved welfare for education stakeholders,” he said.
The NANS President also urged the administration to consolidate on this progress by addressing lingering infrastructure deficits, ensuring timely release of education funds, and fostering student-friendly policies that will make Nigerian institutions globally competitive.
