NASFAT Celebrates Dr. Azeez Butali

The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) joyfully celebrates the remarkable achievement of Dr Azeez Butali, a distinguished Nigerian researcher who was recently awarded the prestigious Fulbright fellowship to advance human genetics research in Nigeria. This global recognition not only honours Dr Butali’s outstanding work but also shines a bright light on the intellectual excellence emerging from Nigeria.

President of NASFAT, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, extended warm congratulations to Dr Butali, applauding his unwavering dedication to science and humanity. He described the award as a beacon of hope for Africa’s scientific landscape and praised Dr Butali’s commitment to transforming genetic health research in Nigeria. He noted that Dr Butali’s feat is an inspiration to young Muslim professionals worldwide.

Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Imam Maroofdeen AbdulAzeez Onike, offered heartfelt prayers for Dr Butali’s continued success. Quoting from the Qur’an, “And say: My Lord, increase me in knowledge” (Q20:114), Imam Onike emphasized the spiritual and societal importance of knowledge, especially when used for the betterment of humanity.

Imam Onike further admonished the youth to emulate Dr Butali’s resilience, humility, and pursuit of excellence. He encouraged scholars across Nigeria to aim for global relevance while staying rooted in faith, ethics, and service.

Dr Butali’s accomplishment is not only personal but profoundly national. His pioneering work in craniofacial genetics stands as a testament to Nigeria’s capacity for world-class research and innovation.
