Daura katsina- in a
swift and poignant display of solidarity, the Nasrul-Lahi-il Fathi Society (NASFAT), a leading Islamic organization in Nigeria and the diaspora, yesterday extended its condolences to the family of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away last Sunday in London after a brief illness.
Spearheading the high-profile delegation was Alhaja Ganiyat Omowunmi Babalola, NASFAT’s National Women Affairs Secretary, accompanied by other prominent stakeholders from the society’s North-West zone. The team journeyed to Buhari’s country home in Daura, Katsina State, to convey the heartfelt sympathies of NASFAT worldwide.
The visit, described by the society as a crucial demonstration of Islamic brotherhood and a final tribute, underscored Buhari’s lifelong dedication to his faith. NASFAT emphasized the late president’s “record track as a renowned Muslim” and his enduring legacy.
Alhaja Babalola, alongside the delegates, led solemn prayers for the departed leader, beseeching divine mercy for his soul and comfort for his grieving family. She highlighted Buhari’s “God-fearing” nature and his global recognition, attributing it to his profound belief in the transient nature of life and the inevitability of death – principles that guided him throughout his existence.
A formal letter of condolence was presented to the family, cementing NASFAT’s deep connection and respect for the late president during his lifetime. This gesture, the society stated, was essential to “stand by a righteous leader par excellence.”
The Buhari family reportedly received the delegation with immense gratitude and warmth, remaining composed throughout the prayer sessions. They expressed their profound appreciation for NASFAT’s support during their time of loss, praying for eternal rest for the former president and divine forgiveness for any shortcomings
