Nigerian Army Reschedules 89RRI Recruitment Exercise to June 8–21, 2025

The Nigerian Army has announced a change in the schedule for its 89 Regular Recruit Intake (89RRI) recruitment exercise. Initially set for an earlier date, the recruitment process will now officially take place from June 8 to June 21, 2025.

This development was made public through an official statement released by Army Headquarters, urging all shortlisted candidates and members of the general public to take note of the revised timetable and make necessary adjustments to their plans.

The 89RRI is part of the Army’s ongoing efforts to bolster its manpower and reinforce internal and external security operations across the country. Candidates who have been shortlisted are expected to report to their designated recruitment centres for screening and other assessment procedures as stipulated in their invitation letters.

The Army emphasized that all applicants must strictly adhere to the instructions provided and present the required documents, including original credentials, passport photographs, birth certificates or age declarations, and evidence of state of origin.

Security analysts have lauded the Army’s continued drive to refresh its personnel strength, particularly at a time when Nigeria faces complex security challenges across several regions. The 89RRI recruitment exercise is also seen as a strategic channel for youth empowerment and national service.
