In a move to streamline visits to one of Islam’s most revered sites, Nigerian pilgrims and other visitors intending to access Al Rawdah Al Sharifah, located within the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, are now required to secure appointments through the official Nusuk mobile application.
Al Rawdah Al Sharifah, also known as the Noble Garden, is a sacred space situated between the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) tomb and his pulpit. It holds immense spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide and is considered a highly blessed area where prayers are readily accepted.
The Saudi authorities, through the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, have emphasized that booking through the Nusuk app is mandatory for all intending visitors, in line with new regulations aimed at improving crowd management, enhancing spiritual experiences, and ensuring security within the holy precincts.
Nigerians embarking on Hajj, Umrah, or visiting Saudi Arabia on other visas are strongly encouraged to download the Nusuk app on their mobile devices ahead of time. The app, which is available for both Android and iOS platforms, allows users to select their preferred date and time for the visit, making the process more organized and efficient.
Pilgrims are advised to plan ahead due to high demand, as time slots are limited and granted on a first-come, first-served basis. The booking confirmation must be presented at the entrance of Al Rawdah before access is granted.
The introduction of the Nusuk platform aligns with the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative, which includes digital transformation in religious tourism, with the goal of providing millions of pilgrims with a seamless and spiritually fulfilling journey.
