In the early hours of March 27, 2025, at approximately 3:20 a.m., the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command successfully thwarted an armed robbery at Royal Court Estate in Jahi II, Abuja. Officers from the Mabushi Division responded promptly to a distress call reporting the ongoing incident.
Upon arrival, they were met with gunfire from the suspects but managed to overpower them with superior firepower. The assailants attempted to flee, sustaining gunshot injuries in the process. A swift pursuit led to the apprehension of two individuals: Rabiu Jubril and Ibrahim Isa, both residents of Tipper Garage, Jahi.
The police recovered several items from the suspects, including two locally made firearms and three vehicles suspected to be stolen: a black Toyota Matrix (registration number NBS 348 CP), a black Toyota Venza (registration number ABJ 105 AV), and a grey Lexus IS350 (registration number RSH 295 CB). Additionally, electronic devices such as two MacBook Pro laptops, a Lenovo laptop, an iPad, a PlayStation 4 gaming console, a Canon IP1224 camera, and a drone camera were retrieved.
The suspects are currently in custody and will face charges upon the conclusion of investigations. The Commissioner of Police for the FCT, CP Ajao S. Adewale, has urged residents to adopt proactive security measures, particularly the installation of tracking devices in their vehicles, to enhance recovery efforts in cases of theft or robbery.
