President Tinubu Denounces Plateau Massacre, Orders Swift Action Against Killers

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the recent killing of travellers in Plateau State, directing security agencies to immediately launch a full-scale operation to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice is served.

The violent attack, which took place in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, left several innocent commuters dead, sparking widespread outrage and grief across the country. In a statement released by the Presidency, Tinubu described the incident as a barbaric assault on the sanctity of human life and an unacceptable breach of national peace.

Expressing heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the entire Plateau community, the President vowed that his administration would not allow criminal elements to destabilise the nation or continue shedding innocent blood.

“This brutal and senseless act against law-abiding citizens will not go unpunished. I have instructed our security services to intensify surveillance, track down those behind the attack, and bring them to justice without delay,” the President said.

President Tinubu reiterated the government’s firm commitment to strengthening internal security mechanisms and curbing the rising tide of violent attacks in the country. He urged residents to remain calm but vigilant and to support security agencies with credible intelligence that could aid in investigations and forestall future incidents.

Security forces have since heightened operations across the state, with reinforcements deployed to volatile areas. Authorities have also assured the public that efforts are underway to stabilise the region and prevent reprisals or further escalation of violence.

The President reaffirmed that the safety and welfare of every Nigerian remain a top priority for his administration, and pledged that no stone would be left unturned in the pursuit of lasting peace and justice.
