President Tinubu, Fellow West African Leaders Grace WAES Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside several other West African Heads of State, has participated in the West Africa Energy Summit (WAES), a high-level regional forum aimed at fostering sustainable energy solutions and deepening economic cooperation among member states.

The summit, which convened in a bid to address the pressing energy challenges facing the subregion, brought together political leaders, energy experts, and key stakeholders from across West Africa. Discussions at the summit centred on regional integration in the power sector, renewable energy development, and strategies to reduce energy poverty while driving inclusive growth.

President Tinubu’s presence at the summit reaffirms Nigeria’s leadership role in the West African energy landscape and its commitment to championing collaborative policies that strengthen energy security and infrastructural development across ECOWAS countries.

Other dignitaries in attendance included Presidents from neighbouring nations, each contributing their perspectives on how to accelerate energy reforms, enhance cross-border partnerships, and unlock private sector investments to power West Africa’s future.

The WAES platform continues to serve as a critical convergence point for regional leaders to align their visions and promote innovative solutions to one of the continent’s most urgent challenges—access to reliable, affordable, and clean energy for all.
