The President arrived at the venue shortly before 9am and was warmly received by an entourage of high-ranking government officials, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.

In his Sallah message to the nation, President Tinubu called upon Nigerians to renew their commitment to nation-building as they celebrate this significant Islamic festival. The President emphasized the importance of collective effort in moving the country forward during these challenging times.

This celebration marks a notable first for President Tinubu, as it represents his inaugural Eid-el-Fitr observance at the State House since assuming office. Previously, the President had observed the festival at his private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Eid-el-Fitr, one of Islam’s most important celebrations, signifies the conclusion of the month-long fasting period of Ramadan. The occasion is traditionally observed through special prayers, charitable giving, and fostering community harmony.

Sources close to the presidency revealed that President Tinubu is scheduled to host distinguished guests for lunch at the State House later today, establishing what appears to be a new tradition in his administration.

As celebrations continue across the nation, the President’s participation in this significant religious event underscores the importance of national unity during religious observances in our diverse country.
