Rwanda’s Victory Reflects Team’s Hard Work and Dedication – Troost-Ekong

Nigeria’s Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has praised Victor Osimhen, placing him among the world’s top attackers alongside Ademola Lookman.

Speaking in Kigali on Friday, Troost-Ekong highlighted Osimhen’s exceptional performance, which saw him score twice in Nigeria’s 2-0 win against Rwanda.

While acknowledging Osimhen’s brilliance, the captain stressed that the victory was a result of the team’s collective effort.

“It’s not just about individual performances. The win against Rwanda is a testament to our hard work and dedication. Everyone contributed, and it’s this unity that will keep pushing us forward,” he said.

He also commended Tolu Arokodare for making his debut and praised Alhassan Yusuf, who played out of his usual position.

Troost-Ekong congratulated Coach Eric Chelle on securing his first win, admitting that the game was challenging.

“We are trying to understand the coach’s vision. We’ve only had two training sessions and several video analysis sessions. Today’s win gives us a glimpse of what to expect under Coach Eric Chelle,” he added.

Reflecting on his career, he expressed gratitude for the past decade with the team, learning from former captains. He believes these experiences have helped him create an environment where new players can adapt and express themselves freely.
