Spanish football powerhouse Real Madrid have officially secured the signing of England international, Trent Alexander-Arnold, from Liverpool FC on a six-year deal. The agreement, finalised by both clubs, will see the 26-year-old right-back wear the famous white jersey from June 1, 2025, through to June 30, 2031.
In a formal announcement published on its official platform, Real Madrid confirmed the arrival of the decorated defender, stating: “Real Madrid C.F. and Liverpool FC have reached an agreement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who will be linked to our club for the next six seasons.”
Alexander-Arnold, a standout graduate of Liverpool’s youth academy, departs Anfield after an illustrious stint that saw him play a pivotal role in one of the club’s most successful eras in modern history. During his time with the Merseyside giants, he amassed nine major honours, including a UEFA Champions League title, a FIFA Club World Cup, a UEFA Super Cup, two Premier League trophies, one FA Cup, two EFL Cups, and a Community Shield.
His contributions extended far beyond silverware. Widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted full-backs of his generation, Alexander-Arnold has consistently received accolades for his individual brilliance. He was named in the prestigious FIFA FIFPro World 11 in 2020, earned spots in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season in both the 2018/19 and 2021/22 campaigns, and was a three-time inclusion in the Premier League Team of the Season. In the 2019/20 season, he was recognised as the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season.
The England international, who made his senior national team debut in 2018, has featured prominently in major international tournaments, including the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups and the UEFA Euro 2024 championship.
As he prepares for this next chapter at the Santiago Bernabéu, Alexander-Arnold is also expected to be part of Real Madrid’s squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled to kick off in the United States from June 14.
His transfer marks the end of an era at Liverpool and the beginning of a new journey in Spain, as Real Madrid continue to strengthen their squad with top-tier talent in pursuit of continued domestic and continental dominance.
