Sanwo-Olu Hails APC’s LG Poll Win, Says Victory Is for All Lagosians

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has expressed gratitude to residents of the state following the resounding victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the July 12 Local Government Elections, describing the outcome as a triumph for democracy and collective progress.

In a statement issued on Saturday evening, the Governor congratulated all newly elected chairmen and councillors, reaffirming that the victory belonged not just to the APC but to all Lagosians who participated in the democratic process.

Sanwo-Olu commended the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for conducting a peaceful and orderly election and praised security agencies for maintaining law and order across polling units in the state.

“This is not just a win for our party but a reaffirmation of the trust and confidence the people of Lagos have in the APC-led administration,” the governor stated. “It is a mandate to do more, to serve better, and to bring development closer to the grassroots.”

He urged the elected council officials to prioritise service delivery, uphold transparency, and work in partnership with their constituents to address local challenges and implement meaningful community-based projects.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also emphasized the need for unity beyond political lines, saying: “The victory is for every Lagosian, regardless of party affiliation. Together, we will continue to build a Greater Lagos where everyone thrives.”

The Governor concluded by calling on residents to remain engaged with local governance and to hold elected officials accountable as partners in progress.
