Saudi Arabia Offers Free Eye Services to 4,000 Lagos Residents

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), has provided free eye care services to 4,000 residents of Lagos State as part of its ongoing blindness prevention campaign in Nigeria.

The initiative, which includes eye screenings, cataract surgeries, and the distribution of prescription glasses, is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader effort to support health interventions in underserved communities. Since the campaign’s inception in Nigeria in 2019, KSrelief has conducted more than 218,000 eye examinations across the country.

Officials from the center noted that the Lagos intervention was one of several medical missions undertaken by KSrelief in Nigeria, aimed at reducing avoidable blindness and improving access to quality eye care.

Local health authorities and beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the continued partnership, emphasizing the impact of such interventions in bridging gaps in healthcare delivery, particularly among vulnerable populations.
