Syrian Security Delegation Visits Saudi Arabia to Strengthen Security Cooperation

A senior Syrian security delegation has completed a working visit to Saudi Arabia aimed at deepening security cooperation and learning from the Kingdom’s advanced operational practices. The visit, which took place between April 14 and 16, 2025, was hosted by the Saudi Ministry of Interior and comes amid growing efforts to rebuild ties and promote regional stability.

During their stay, the Syrian officials held a series of high-level meetings with their Saudi counterparts, including Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud. Discussions focused on strategies to combat drug trafficking, strengthen internal security operations, and adopt modern technological tools in law enforcement. The delegation was also given comprehensive briefings on the workings of Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Public Security and the General Directorate of Drug Control.

The visit offered the Syrian team firsthand exposure to Saudi Arabia’s latest advancements in security infrastructure, including the use of cutting-edge technologies for surveillance, data management, and crime prevention. The exchange forms part of broader efforts to foster institutional rebuilding in Syria following years of conflict.

This engagement reflects the steadily improving relations between Saudi Arabia and Syria, following previous diplomatic interactions aimed at supporting Syria’s reconstruction and reintegration into regional frameworks. Both nations have expressed commitment to fostering stability, with security collaboration seen as a critical pillar of that effort.

As Saudi Arabia continues to position itself as a leader in regional security modernization, initiatives like this visit signal a strengthening of partnerships that are vital for peace, security, and development across the Middle East.
